CZECRIN Introduces first Disease Oriented Network - STROCZECH

At the beginning of June, a meeting of representatives of the STROCZECH network and the CZECRIN infrastructure took place, and this was the first joint meeting of all centers involved in this network.

STROCZECH is the first and so far the largest DONet (Disease Oriented Network). The coordinating center is FNUSA-ICRC, the leading expert is Professor Robert Mikulík. The main idea of this network is to connect a well-functioning network of clinical stroke workplaces with the CZECRIN research infrastructure, which brings know-how for the implementation of academic clinical studies in the Czech Republic. The aim is to raise the clinical research of cerebrovascular diseases in the Czech Republic to the highest possible level. Currently, 6 clinical trials are underway, another 6 are in preparation and 2 projects have already been completed.

The STROCZECH network consists of a network of stroke centers (currently 16 active), a scientific council, a network of study nurses (11 research nurses) and an implementation team. The potential of the network lies in significantly simplifying the implementation of multicentre studies, expanding one’s own projects to other hospitals, connecting abroad, building know-how, involving young doctors and PhD students and supporting their academic growth.
