DONET Discipline Advisory Board

Expert advisory bodies to ensure the quality, relevance and direction of the DONETs.

Guarantee of Professional Expertise and Quality

Each specialty network has its own specialty board, made up of leading experts and academics in the field of medicine. These boards ensure that all DONETs’ research activities are of a high professional standard, with clear methodological integrity and direct clinical benefit.

The role of Discipline Advisory Board

Discipline Advisory Board play a key role in the management, coordination and quality assurance of the activities of DONETs.
Their main task is to:

  • assess and validate research plans for innovation, clinical impact and feasibility,
  • approve involvement in international projects and propose strategic priorities for cooperation,
  • define and guide the network’s research strategy in line with the needs of clinical practice,
  • guarantee the professional quality and clinical relevance of the proposed projects,
  • and to facilitate interdisciplinary coordination between centres, researchers and partners within the network.

Why Discipline Advisory Boards are key

The work of the specialty boards ensures that project proposals within DONETs meet the highest professional standards and the real needs of clinical practice.

In this way, specialty boards provide a guarantee of expertise, transparency and strategic leadership – a key element of governance that links clinical expertise, research excellence and effective management.

Collaboration with Professional Societies

The DONETs work closely with the professional medical societies of the Czech Society of Medicine, individual medical disciplines and bring together leading Czech clinicians, researchers and academics.

Many members of the DONETs’ disciplinary boards also serve on the committees or presidencies of these societies, creating a natural link between clinical research and clinical practice.

This interdependence ensures that:

  • DONETs research projects respond to the real needs of clinical practice,
  • study results can be quickly implemented into recommendations and standards of care,
  • and research activities are developed in accordance with professional priorities and the current direction of the field.

Collaboration with professional societies thus strengthens the credibility of DONETs, enables coordination of research activities across disciplines and creates a bridge between scientific knowledge and its clinical application.
