CZECRIN Research Networks
We work with national and European partners to strengthen the quality, availability and coordination of clinical research in the Czech Republic.
National networks
CZECRIN develops a network of expert clinical sites across the Czech Republic that support the implementation of non-commercial clinical trials and the sharing of methodological expertise. National networks link hospitals, research teams and specialised units to create a coordinated environment for efficient and high-quality clinical research in the Czech Republic.
DONET Network
Disease oriented clinical research networks (DONETs) enable the validation of new scientific and clinical knowledge and hypotheses obtained by clinicians and scientists in clinical trials, and thus the possibility of improving treatment outcomes for patients. These specialised networks focused on a specific diagnosis or area connect experts and sites across the country and enable the efficient successful conduct of non-commercial clinical trials, including national and international projects.

Phase I units
Phase I units form a dedicated network of sites that enables the safe and high-quality conduct of early clinical trials of newly developed medicines. With full medical support and highly standardised procedures, these sites ensure that the initial administration of a drug substance to humans is carried out in accordance with legislative requirements, international standards and the principles of Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP).
Workplaces involved
Masaryk Institute of Oncology (MOÚ)
St. Anne’s University Hospital in Brno (FNUSA)
University Hospital Brno (FN Brno)
University Hospital Ostrava (FNO)
Thomayer Hospital (TN)
International networks
Involvement in international networks allows Czech research teams to participate in clinical trials that go beyond the capabilities of individual countries. Thanks to European cooperation, we have access to harmonised procedures, shared expertise and a strong infrastructure that supports high-quality and safe clinical research.
ECRIN-ERIC NETWORK
CZECRIN is the Czech national node of the pan-European research infrastructure ECRIN-ERIC (European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network). CZECRIN is also the national coordinating unit (NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC PARTNER), which provides the background for ECRIN-ERIC (European Correspondents | ECRIN), which is the direct link to ECRIN-ERIC. This allows for an effective linking of clinically oriented research infrastructures in the Czech Republic associated in CZECRIN with the research and application sphere in Europe and successful participation in pan-European projects implemented by transnational consortia. Through CZECRIN, the Czech Republic is a member of ECRIN-ERIC and part of ESFRI Roadmap.
