Disease oriented network

CZECRIN | NEURODEGEN

A disease oriented network linking clinical sites, researchers and experts focused on neurodegenerative diseases.

Its aim is to support academic clinical research that contributes to improving the diagnosis, treatment and long-term care of patients with Parkinson’s disease, dementia and other neurodegenerative disorders of the nervous system, and thus contribute to increasing the quality and availability of specialized neurological care in the Czech Republic.

Mission CZECRIN | NEURODEGEN

CZECRIN | NEURODEGEN supports clinical and translational research in neurodegenerative diseases.
The network connects experts from neurology and research centres, sharing data and experience and aiming to improve diagnosis, treatment and quality of life for patients.

Vision CZECRIN | NEURODEGEN

  • CZECRIN | NEURODEGEN seeks to bring together top clinical and research centers focused on neurodegenerative diseases.

  • The aim is to develop academic research that provides new insights into the mechanisms of these diseases and improves diagnosis, prevention, treatment and long-term care of patients.

  • The network supports data sharing, harmonisation of methodologies and active involvement of Czech experts in European initiatives, especially ERN-RND, with an emphasis on the transfer of research results into clinical practice.

CZECRIN | NEURODEGEN is a disease oriented network

for clinical research in rare neurological and neurodegenerative diseases.

The network was established at St. Anne’s University Hospital in Brno, which is a member of the European Reference Network for Rare Neurological Diseases (ERN-RND) and acts as a national reference centre for rare neurodegenerative disorders.

The ERN-RND Registry monitors patients with Parkinson’s disease, dementia or other neurodegenerative diseases and assesses their condition using various standardized scales.

CZECRIN | NEURODEGEN thus contributes to the harmonisation of research methodologies, the development of international collaboration and the strengthening of evidence-based medicine. The network also contributes to the education of the professional community, for example in the field of research data management and the implementation of European standards.
