CZECRIN at the Patient Hub conference: Women, Science and Clinical Trials

CZECRIN representatives, Jitka Rychlíčková and Zora Čechová, were invited to the conference of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic “Conversations about health or what (don’t) I know about women’s health”, organized by the Patient Hub, where they focused on a crucial topic: women in science and their role in clinical research.

🔍 Gender inequality in science and clinical trials
Women make up a substantial part of the scientific community, but still face barriers to building a career in research and are underrepresented in decision-making positions. In addition, clinical trials face a lack of inclusion of women as participants, which can affect the relevance and outcomes of research.

At the conference, CZECRIN presented concrete steps and tools to help change the current situation:

✅ Vaccelerate – A European platform that accelerates vaccine research.
V-Reg.eu – A registry of volunteers who want to participate in clinical trials and promotes greater diversity of participants.
✅ Project Sensitise – An initiative to promote inclusion and diversity in clinical research.

Big thanks to the Patient Hub for the great organization, inspiring atmosphere and space for discussion!

We believe that collaboration across professional and patient communities can bring positive change for the future of women in science and healthcare.
