The CREATIC consortium’s annual meeting took place in Copenhagen on May 27–29, 2026. The three-day program provided partners with an opportunity to assess the project’s progress to date, discuss the outcomes of the most recent Review Meeting, and align priorities for the upcoming implementation period.

During the meeting, the results of individual work packages focused on research, infrastructure development, data science, innovation, communication, business development, and project management were presented. The partners also discussed the further development of CREATIC as a Center of Excellence for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP), which brings together academic, clinical, and technological capabilities to support the development, production, and clinical use of advanced therapies.
A significant portion of the agenda was devoted to the long-term sustainability of the Center and its activities. Discussions focused on the development of management structures, intellectual property management, education, talent development, training activities, international cooperation, and preparations for the upcoming reporting period. These areas are key to ensuring that CREATIC can continue to grow as a stable, sustainable, and internationally connected center operating within the European ecosystem of advanced therapies.
The meeting confirmed that CREATIC is gradually moving beyond the phase of building basic capacity and entering the next stage, which focuses on operational development, the practical application of results, and long-term sustainability. The newly built infrastructure is gradually becoming fully operational, and the individual expert units are becoming an integral part of the Center’s operations.

The program also included workshops focused on analyzing the evaluators’ comments and identifying next steps that could strengthen the project’s development. Participants agreed that future reporting should highlight even more clearly CREATIC’s overall transformation into an integrated and internationally recognized Center of Excellence, rather than focusing solely on individual activities and achieved outcomes.
The annual meeting also reaffirmed the consortium’s shared vision: to continue building a sustainable environment that brings together cutting-edge research, clinical practice, innovation, and the development of medicinal products for modern therapy. This progress is based on close collaboration among partners and a shared commitment to translating scientific excellence into solutions that can bring real benefits to patients in the future.
We would like to thank all consortium partners from the Fraunhofer IZI Institute, the University of Leipzig, and the University of Copenhagen for their active participation, valuable input, and long-term commitment to the project’s development.
Together, we continue to build a solid foundation for modern therapies and their future use for the benefit of patients.
