A disease oriented network linking clinical sites, researchers and experts in the field of pneumology and respiratory medicine. It aims to promote academic clinical research aimed at improving the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases and improving the quality of care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases.
Mission CZECRIN | PNEUMO
Our mission is to create the scientific and clinical foundation for research that directly benefits patients with respiratory disease. We support personalized medicine in pulmonology and clinical research that links everyday practice with new findings in translational medicine.
The CZECRIN | PNEUMO network strengthens collaboration between pneumology centres, shares expertise and provides methodological support in the design, implementation and evaluation of academic clinical trials.
CZECRIN Vision | PNEUMO
- To establish and develop a national network of pneumology clinical centres to support mutual collaboration and the development of academic research in respiratory medicine
- Link clinical sites with established research institutions and promote interdisciplinary collaboration
- Conduct national and international multicentre academic clinical trials with an emphasis on high scientific quality and clinical benefit
- Support the establishment of joint initiatives to raise funds for academic research
- Create a platform for international collaboration with partner organisations in the field of pneumology and respiratory medicine
- Support research aimed at personalisation of treatment, applicability of results in clinical practice and improvement of patients’ quality of life
CZECRIN | PNEUMO is a disease oriented network
linking clinical sites, researchers and experts in the field of pneumology and respiratory medicine. Its aim is to support the creation, implementation and development of academic clinical trials focused on diseases of the airways, lungs and pleural cavity – from protocol design to implementation of results in clinical practice.
The CZECRIN | PNEUMO network was established in 2023 under the leadership of Prof. Vladimír Koblizek, M.D., Ph.D., from the University Hospital Hradec Králové and also the President of the Czech Pneumological and Phthisiological Society (CPFS), with the aim of systematically developing academic clinical research in the field of respiratory medicine and strengthening cooperation between pneumology centres across the Czech Republic.
The network supports research towards personalisation and individualisation of treatment, development of diagnostic and therapeutic methods and implementation of innovative treatment approaches. CZECRIN | PNEUMO connects academic and clinical institutions that want to actively participate in the creation of independent clinical trials that produce results with a real impact on the quality of life of patients with respiratory diseases.
