CZECRIN is a large research infrastructure, established by a decision of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS), which also funds it from the special-purpose support for large research infrastructures<\/p>\n
The decision on the establishment of the research infrastructure was signed on 21 March 2014, based on the cooperation between Masaryk University (MU; host institution) and St. Anne\u2019s University Hospital in Brno (FNUSA; partner institution) with the aim of creating a nationwide scientific network of partners for conducting non-commercial clinical research and clinical trials at national and international level. <\/p>\n
For the years 2020 \u2013 2022, the large research infrastructure project has been granted a financial subsidy from the Ministry of Education and Science (LM2018128).<\/p>\n

Similarly to other clinical research infrastructures within ECRIN-ERIC, LRI CZECRIN does not have the status of a legal entity. The legal entity and host institution of CZECRIN is Masaryk University (MU), one of the leading Central European scientific institutions.<\/p>\n
The research infrastructures operated by MU are an important pillar of the research and innovation systems in the Czech Republic. Their importance is underlined by their participation in 16 research infrastructures listed in the Czech National Roadmap for Large RDI Infrastructures. <\/p>\n
Nine of these projects are also part of research infrastructures of pan-European interest included in the European Strategic Forum for Research Infrastructures (ESFRI). FNUSA<\/a> \u2013 the founding partner \u2013 is a university hospital with excellent clinical research capabilities concentrated in the International Center for Clinical Trials (ICRC<\/a>). It provides unique expertise, research, development, production and implementation capabilities in the medical sciences. CZECRIN supports national and international collaboration in clinical research for the benefit of patients, citizens and healthcare.
